Our Hospital/Nursing Home Visitation Team supports and encourages Grace family members by “just being there.” They may also provide care through prayer and brief conversation as they visit during a patient's hospital stay. Please contact us if you are interested in serving in this ministry.
Memorial Service Assistance Team comforts and serves the family and friends of a loved one who has died. Realizing each situation is unique, this could include assisting in coordination and setup for a memorial service and/or a post-memorial service reception here at Grace. Please contact us if you are interested in serving in this ministry.
Counseling from a biblical perspective for individuals, couples, and families. Our goal is to meet people where they are, to extend grace and to speak the truth in love, as Jesus modeled for us. While not "professional" counselors, we are honored to come alongside however we can and if/when the best next step of counseling may be connecting someone with a professional, Christ-centered counselor, we will proactively partner with the counselors/entities that we have teamed with for years. Designing an overall schematic of care for the purpose of caring for people, pointing them to Jesus, and helping them pursue health so that they in turn may be able to help others, is our passion and goal. Please contact us if you would like to set up an appointment.
One-on-One Care (Stephen Ministry) - We provide quality one-on-one, Christ-centered care to individuals both within Grace or within in our local community. As one of over 11,000 churches nationwide participating in the Stephen Ministry, Grace one-on-one caregivers receive over 50 hours of special and on-going training.
The Bible teaches us in the Book of Acts, that as the demands of the ministry were growing the original twelve disciples gathered all of the disciples together and determined to choose seven individuals among them to care for the people. The purpose was to train and multiply others to provide effective care so the others could focus their attention to prayer and teaching of the Word. Stephen was one of the seven chosen, thus why this is called the Stephen Ministry.
Our caregivers, commonly referred to as Stephen Ministers, are members of Grace who meet regularly with people who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties. This is God's Love in Action.
